I would call it a time pass snack. Peanuts are best associated with snacking while you are out tripping on a beach etc. You are sure to get some from the vendors to munch on. This peanut fry just adds on to the flavor of peanut and gives it a bit spicy and crunchy texture that you just can't stop munching.
Fry and stock it for the rainy days ahead so that you get a handful of it while you go rain watching by the side of your bedroom window 😊

Fry and stock it for the rainy days ahead so that you get a handful of it while you go rain watching by the side of your bedroom window 😊
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of peanuts
- 3/4 cup of besan or chick pea flour
- 1/2 tsp of red chilly powder
- 11/8 tsp of turmeric powder
- A pinch of asafoetida
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup of water
- Oil for deep frying
- In a bowl, mix the ingredient 2-6. Give it a mix. Add the water to it little by little while you mix it to form a thick batter free of lumps.
- Heat up the oil in a pan.
- Take a bunch of peanuts and dip it in the batter and drop it into the hot oil. Turn down the heat to medium. Fry it untill they appear golden brown. Remove it onto a plate lined with tissue paper.
- Store it in an air tight container once it completely cools down.
- Roasting the peanuts, before making it could help make it more tasty.
- They may not seem to be crispy when they are still hot. Once it cools down, it is going to turn out crisp.
- Try dropping it one by one so that they do not cluster up as they would tend to stick to each other when dipped in the batter.
