Liebster Award - a Takeaway and a Giveaway !

The other day I got a message from Aara of Sweets & Spices saying that she had nominated me for Liebster award. Thank you sooo much Aara for considering my little blog to be worth it. I was so glad to have received an award in blogging :). However, I was not sure what it meant or what was the award for. So I went through her post and also googled it up to understand more about it.

So this is what I understood. Liebster award is given to upcoming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. This award helps motivate the upcoming bloggers to keep blogging wonderful recipes and also introducing them to the rest of the blogging world. Also, it is a recognition given to them for the effort and the time that they spend in the blogosphere. Now, there are few rules to follow. As I take away this award, I will need to giveaway the award to another 5-10 bloggers(need not be food bloggers), with less than 200 followers accompanied with few other tasks:
  • Comment on the award givers post, confirming the receipt of it.
  • Give a heads-up to the nominees that you are passing on the award to them by leaving a comment on their blog.
  • Blog about the award, telling whom you received it from and who all are you gonna pass it on to.
  • Answer the 10 questions that the award giver has asked you.
  • Frame another set of 10 questions for the nominees to answer.
  • Put up the cute little badge on your blog.
Here are my responses to the questions asked to me by Aara.

What did you understand with the concept of blogging?
Its a different world altogether where you share and take equally. I share my recipes and I learn different approaches or a completely different way of preparing a dish.

What are the things that changed after you started blogging?
It keeps me engaged by learning new things everyday. Also, it could be one of the reasons motivating me to bring up more interesting spread to our daily meal rather than usually curries :).

If you are a food blogger, do your family and friends support your efforts?
My immediate family and handful of friends, whom I know personally and virtually, do support me and that is all that matters to me. I would divide the rest of the crowd into two :
1) People who have different interests other than food/blogging. I myself may forget to appreciate other hobbies if I have least interest in that field. So it wouldn't be fair to force people to appreciate mine.
2) People who make fun of it. I used to argue and prove my stand for it earlier but now I refuse to spend my energy/time in explaining it to people who would never change their attitude.

How is your blog different from other blogs you came across?
Hmm.. I think a blog talks for oneself and their personality. Given the fact that everyone is unique, I think each blog is unique and cannot be compared.

Do you have virtual friends? How does it feel when you interact with them?
I do have virtual friends which this blogging world has gifted me with and I love interacting with them. Its amazing to know how people who have never met in person can be so friendly, caring and interact as if they know so well. Also, you get to learn a lot from them while you interact.

What is your new year resolution and why?
Oops...I don't have one :).

One thing you can change about yourself?
I think I need to let go of things, if it does not happen the way I want and stop worrying about it.

One thing you always fantasy about you can have?
Hmm...there is no one thing...there are so many things :D

Five things you love the most?
It would be difficult to list just five.

Blogging is a different world!! What if you were not a blogger? What if you have to quit blogging anytime??

I started blogging when I felt I had too much time in hand and wanted to do something meaningful out of it. I don't plan to quit but again, time constraints because of other commitments may arise and I may not be frequently blogging but would definitely not quit completely.

Who inspire and motivate you to cook?

My husband. He was the one to push me start one and he continues to support me till date.

There are so many bloggers who I would like to pass on the Liebster award to. But, I am trying to avoid duplication and give away to only those who I don't think have got one in the past. However, in case you (the nominees) wouldn't want to accept the award, feel free to do so :).

Here are the nominees for the Liebster award:
The set of questions I would like you to answer are:
  1. What made you start blogging? Has it brought any positive change in you?
  2. Apart from blogging what are your hobbies/interest?
  3. What made you choose your blog name?
  4. Do you hate any veggie or a dish in particular?
  5. What is the one thing that you can't live without?
  6. A place you have always wished to visit?
  7. Who is your role model?
  8. What is your favorite cuisine?
  9. Who is your favorite chef?
  10. Who motivated you to blog?
